Kids Blanks:
I was previously employed by Kidsblanks, a Santa Ana based company. At Kidsblanks I worked as a project director, and team member. I was in charge of managing the company image and product databases, tracking online metrics, and boosting rankings amongst search engines for targeted words & phrases. I achieved an average traction time of about 5 min per each visitor with a bounce rate of under 18%. I also worked to help them average approximately 18,000 unique visitors and reach over 130,000 page views each month. While being employed by Kidsblanks I helped them release over 45 new products. I worked as a pattern designer for a range of their infant clothing. I also generated company virtuals for end clients such as Yahoo!®, Tri City Medical, and dozens more.
Some History: I studied a combination of design, fine arts and business at Whittier College. I was a Whittier Scholar and graduated with a Bachelors of the Arts degree. I continued my education in interactive media at the San Diego & Orange County Art Institutes where I graduated with honors.
I became interested in design because of the surfing industry. I love surfing because it is a unique physical activity. I noticed a lot of energy surrounding the overall progression in the sport. The many companies associated with surfing helped me become inspired by the culture and style. My business thesis in college was on the state of the wetsuit industry in California. I became an intern at an Australian surf company and my design skills were used to conceptualize a brand new show room. This involved a lounge space, video projection, artwork, amongst brand style divisions and displays for wetsuits, board shorts, casual wear, surfboards, sunglasses, watches, and jewlery. I dialed this task down to an exact dollar amount.
At my internship, I convinced myself that I wanted to manufacture and design wetsuits. So I enrolled in the Art Institute to solidify my knowledge of necessary creative media. I began to learn about interactive media and how to construct web sites. Soon thereafter I made a switch into the study of developing websites. It was as if a light bulb lit up and I became enthralled by the overall field. As I continued my education learning about the web as a neccesary platform for today's modern society, I became recognized on the Art Institute's Honors List. I also received distinction from Alpha Beta Gamma, an international business honor society.
How could I be an asset to your organization? I work on projects such as Web Design, Interactive Design, E Marketing, Online Advertising, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Ecommerce, Blog Design, and Re-Branding.
How do I get it done? I use HTML5, XHTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, PHP, MySQL, and a little Action Script 3. I also work with Illustrator, Flash , InDesign, & Photoshop.
Goals:
I am in pursuit of winning my first web design award.
